The 75th Anniversary 12UT (11 January 2006) Ionograms

Opening Comments

As Chris Davis' article explained, 12UT 11 January 2006 commemorated the recording of the first ionograms at Slough 75 years earlier. As a tribute to this well known, long data set of ionospheric records ionograms from around the world, recorded at 12UT, have been collected together. The sample represents many different regions of the world, as well as different ionosondes.

The ionograms have been arranged in increasing longitude (rather than zone time), moving eastwards from Greenwich.

Thanks to those who sent me their ionograms, or have their ionograms available on the Web, for their assistance in compiling this little tribute.

I know many more ionograms were recorded at 12UT on 11 January 2006, but they were not easily obtained from the Web. If you would like to add some ionograms to this page, please send them to me.
