URSI Representatives at URSI-sponsored meetings

An official URSI representative must be chosen for each meeting that is sponsored by URSI. His or her main task is to put the expertise of the URSI sponsoring Commission at the organizers' disposal. It should be somebody who would attend the conference anyhow (his expenses cannot be covered by URSI). He or she is chosen by the Chair of the sponsoring Commission.

Shortly after the end of the conference the URSI representative must provide the URSI Secretariat <rsb@ursi.org> with a suitable report on the meeting ( 2 to 4 pages long) . This report will be published in "The Radio Science Bulletin", thus providing free (and significant) advertisement to the meeting, a particularly important point if the latter is part of a series. An example of such a report can be found in our September 2003 issue on pages 55-56.

The report should contain the following information :

  1. name of the meeting
  2. location and dates
  3. organisers
  4. sponsors and co-sponsors
  5. number of participants (young scientists, students, countries represented)
  6. results (about one page describing scientific results, sessions organised)
  7. invited speakers and titles of papers, scientific visits, social activities, etc
