Commission Chairs, term 2002-2005
Article 53. The Chairs and Vice-Chairs of Commissions are elected by the Council on the recommendation of the respective Commissions. Each Chair assumes his or her responsibilities at the end of the Assembly at which he or she is elected, and serves until the end of the next Ordinary General Assembly. Except in unusual circumstances, the Vice-Chair of a Commission succeeds automatically as Chair.
Article 56. The Chairs of the Scientific Committees are elected by the Council on the recommendation of the Board of Officers.
The Board of Officers recommend to Council that all current Vice-Chairs should automatically become Chairs, to wit :

Commission C : Prof. Masami AKAIKE (Japan)
Commission D : Prof. Peter RUSSER (Germany)
Commission E : Prof. Pierre DEGAUQUE (France)
Commission F : Prof. Martti T. HALLIKAINEN (Finland)
Commission G : Prof. Christian HANUISE (France)
Commission H : Prof. Umran S. INAN (USA)
Commission J : Prof. Makoto INOUE (Japan)
Commission K : Prof. Bernard VEYRET (France)
Nominations Commission Vice-Chairs, term 2002-2005
Following the Commission Business Meeting and prior to the appropriate Council Meeting, the Chair must provide the Secretariat with the ranking (winner and runner-up) and their point totals. Here is the alphabetical list of nominees for the Commission Vice-Chair of the next triennium :
