14 October 2005 : The Secretariat in Ghent will be closed after today, we are preparing to leave for India. We hope to be back on-line on 22 October. All selected Young Scientists will meet the President of India during
the URSI General Assembly in New Delhi. If you are interested to

As soon as they are signed we will air mail them to you. To gain some time we are already faxing the letter to the faxnumber you mentioned on your application form. If that faxnumber changed recently, please send an e-mail message to Inge Lievens as soon as possible. Thank you. 5 July 2005 : Do check the list of the Young Scientists who have been selected in the Young Scientist program once more, today the names of another 10 awardees were added. 20 June 2005 : the deadline for the submission of full paper has been extended , now the deadline is before August 15, 2005. 13 June 2005 : list of the Young Scientists who have been selected. If your name is not in the list on Monday it does not mean that you are not accepted, the selection process is not finished yet. You will all receive a letter of acceptance or rejection by air mail within the next 4 weeks. 10 June 2005 : 124 candidates have been selected by the YS Panel. The URSI Board has received that list today and has time until Monday noon to react. First results will be announced on the Web site on Monday afternoon 13/6. This means that the Young Scientists who are selected will be informed first, the candidates who do not get an award will be informed later. If your name is not in the list on Monday it does not mean that you are not accepted, the selection process is not finished yet. You will all receive a letter of acceptance or rejection by air mail within the next 4 weeks. 17 May 2005 : we realise that many of you are frequently checking this web page to see if your paper has been accepted. Please accept our apologies. There is a serious delay in the handling of the papers. As soon as there is news about the acceptance or rejection of your paper, you will receive an e-mail from the LOC. Please wait a little longer. Thank you for your patience. 1 February 2005 : on 31 January 2005 we sent an e-mail acknowledging receipt of all the applications for the Young Scientists programme of the upcoming General Assembly. If you applied for a YS award and you did not receive our acknowledgement, please contact Inge Lievens as soon as possible. 1 February 2005 : the YS application deadline is now officially closed.
31 January 2005 : the deadline of abstract
submission has been
extended to 15 November 2004 : If you have a question, please check our "frequently asked questions" section before you contact the URSI Secretariat. You may find an answer there... 18 October 2004 : Please note that the closing date for YS applications to reach the secretariat was shifted from 15 November to 15 January 2005!!! Shortly after that date we will send all the applications of YS to the respective Member Committees and ask the Presidents to rank them. The Commissions Chairs will receive a list with the names of the YS who have a paper in the field of their Commission. The deadline for the Member Committee rankings to reach the secretariat is 20 February 2005. Before 1 April the Chairs send a list to the URSI Secretariat with the names of YS who have accepted papers. That information is forwarded to the Young Scientist Panel, who then selects the Young Scientist awardees. In early June the list of selected YS will appear on the URSI website. Each YS applicant will receive a letter by mail with the message whether or not he or she receives a YS award. |
